Dear Journal,
Today I have explored the geography of ancient Egypt. The geography of a society can have a huge other civilizations because they were so well protected. To trade, they had to either cross the desert, or they had to take a boat through the river, then walk on foot to where they needed to go.
The flooding of the Nile affected ancient Egypt by leaving behind a silt that was good for farming. If the Nile flooded too much though, it could wipe out everything. While a huge flood could be bad, so could a small, or no flood. If there was limited, or no, silt for farming, the crops would not thrive and there would be famine across the society.
